To ensure the centre implements and maintains a hygienic standard at all times.
Face cloths and tea towels will be soaked in plastic container labelled Kitchen.
Rags will be soaked in container labelled rags and washed once there is enough for a load.
The cloths used for nappy changing are soaked in the container labelled ‘NAPPIES’ and are washed once there is enough for a load separate from other laundry in hot water.
Bed linen will be washed each Thursday after nap time and will be washed in hot water. Staff members who are on opening shift will make up required mixture for soaking rags and face cloths following the Nappy San directions. When washing a load add the recommended amount of laundry powder and sanitiser by placing it in the dispenser.
All washing will be dried using the dryer and folded and packed away once cleaned. The filter in the dryer and the washing machine is to be emptied after each load. Both the washing machine and dryer will be wiped down using disinfectant which has been previously mixed when needed.
If a child’s soiled/sick clothes are being washed etc then disinfectant and hot water is to be used to wash the clothes. Washing machine is to be cleaned and wiped down with disinfectant in spray bottle after the load is finished.
