Bright Stars Curriculum
The Bright Stars Educare Philosophy Statement is our guiding document in which all students, teachers, management & whanau strive to attain to. From this Statement the Bright Stars Curriculum has emerged identifying 4 most important areas in which we believe children should learn while here at Bright Stars Educare. It acts as a form of validation and a guiding document for teachers when planning and implementing the programme.
Culture, Language, Beliefs and Identity
- Use of language on the floor through stories, songs & rhymes etc
- Celebrate events out in the community and within the centre
- Incorporate skills and the expertise whanau bring to the centre
- Children have access to diverse resources reflecting cultural heritage
- Acknowledging Maori as Tangatawhenua and celebrate all cultures
Love of Learning in a fun, positive and holistic way
Play based programme focussing on children’s interests and abilities
Staff, Whanau and children role model - showing empathy and kindness between one another
Kindness to one another by greeting, conversing and sharing with a high level of trust and respect.
Staff, Whanau and children gives praise to one another using manners and kind gestures. Differences are accepted and respected.
